PrimeProbe – Electromagnetic Insertion Flow Meter

Technical Overview

PrimeProbe is a bi-directional electromagnetic insertion flow meter, designed for accurate liquid flow measurementin pipes ranging from 80 mm to over 2000 mm in diameter.
It is suitable for both permanent installation and portable use, offering long-term data logging and battery life of up to 10 years.

Measurement and Performance

  • Pipe size range: 80 mm to >2000 mm (for pipes ≤150 mm, accuracy can be enhanced via specific calibration)

  • Measurement range: Bi-directional, from 0.02 to 5 m/s
    (maximum value depends on insertion depth and probe position in pipe)

  • Accuracy:

    • At flow velocity ≥0.4 m/s: ±2%

    • At flow velocity <0.4 m/s: ±0.8/V% (V = measured flow velocity)

  • Flow calculation: Assumes developed profile (determined via Flow Profiling Software)

  • Minimum fluid conductivity: 20 µS/cm

Response Time

  • Flow step changes >0.25 m/s: 300 ms

  • Flow step changes ≤0.25 m/s: 6 s

Operating Modes:

  • SMART mode: 3–60 s

  • Average mode: 6–120 s

  • Maximum life mode: 15–300 s
