Roediger Vacuum Sewer Systems
Roediger Vacuum Sewer Systems
SIA IPARS is the official representative and distributor of Roediger Vacuum Sewer Systems in Latvia, providing consulting, design support, equipment supply, training, commissioning, and technical support.
Vacuum sewer technology is a modern alternative to conventional gravity sewer systems and is particularly suitable for areas with high groundwater levels, difficult geological conditions, protected natural environments, coastal regions, islands, and dispersed developments.
Key Benefits
- Lower investment costs, especially for larger service areas
- Construction up to 3 times faster than conventional gravity sewers
- Shallow trench depths and reduced excavation works
- Small pipe diameters (DN63–DN250)
- Low energy consumption
- Minimal maintenance requirements
- Fully sealed system with no infiltration or exfiltration
- Environmentally friendly solution for nature reserves and protected areas
- No electricity required in collection chambers
- EN 1091 compliant vacuum valves, Lloyd’s certified
- Available with 63 mm and 90 mm vacuum valves for residential applications
- Collection chambers available for pedestrian areas as well as heavy traffic loads up to 40 tonnes
- Efficient wastewater ventilation
- Collection chambers provide additional wastewater buffering capacity
- SCADA integration and remote monitoring capabilities available
How It Works
Vacuum pumps located in the vacuum station generate negative pressure throughout the sewer network. Each collection chamber contains a pneumatic vacuum valve that operates without electricity. When wastewater reaches a predetermined level, the valve opens automatically and transports wastewater together with air through the vacuum pipeline to the vacuum station. This batch-wise operation ensures efficient and reliable wastewater transport.
Buffer Capacity and Reliability
Vacuum collection chambers provide inherent wastewater buffering capacity, helping to balance peak inflows and improve overall system reliability. For larger developments, additional buffer tank solutions can be integrated into the system to accommodate higher wastewater volumes and peak flow events.
Proven Advantages
According to research conducted by Riga Technical University, vacuum sewer systems can be up to 17% less expensive to construct and up to three times faster to install compared to conventional gravity sewer systems under suitable conditions. The study also highlights the strong potential of vacuum sewer technology for municipalities and developments facing challenging construction conditions.
